Her paintings combine various approaches and explore colour and effects of light on environments and emotions. She uses the interaction, contrasts and textures of a range of media. More recently she has been painting with water colour. Most of her influences stem from the rich vibrant colours of the Mediterranean landscape and the light and transformation of surfaces. Taking ideas from nature and simplifying them in form while adding others to bring in an element of abstraction.
Mixed media artist
Having established herself as a decorative artist and designer, her paintings reflect the many aspects of her skills. Working with a mixture of paint media and using an extensive range of techniques, which include the traditional methods of oil and water gilding, egg tempera and glazing.
For some years she has taught Water Colour, Gilding, Mixed Media and City and Guilds certificated Interior Design within adult settings in the UK. Currently her time is divided between Greece and England with a view to setting up cultural exchanges between the countries and incorporating her courses and workshops.
Past exhibitions have included solo shows at the Spitz Gallery, the Vyner Street Gallery and No Format Gallery, London. Group shows with Cobbald & Judd. She is also member of the Greenwich Open Studios and Thames side Studios where she exhibits annually. Her work had been sold to many private buyers and is in collections in the UK and overseas.
